Use the real command to find the real part of a complex number. This will be the first term if the number is in standard form. For example, find the real component of 5 - 3i.

The imag command can be used to find the imaginary part of a complex number. This will be the coefficient of the term containing i. For example, find the imaginary component of 5 - 3i.
