For sums of a sequence that is recursively defined, meaning each term depends on the value of one or more previous terms, you must work in sequence mode. The change is made in the MODE window.

Let's find the sum of the first ten terms (the tenth partial sum) of the recursively defined sequence
 a(subscript 1) = 2, a(subscript n) = 0.6*a(subscript n-1). This is an example of a geometric sequence.
