SEQUENCES Sums (Page 4 of 7)

To generate the sequence of partial sums, use the cumSum command located in the LIST OPS submenu. Let's find the first ten terms of the sequence of partial sums for this sequence. Enter the cumSum command first, immediately followed by the seq command. Then specify the rule of the sequence, the variable name used to define the rule, the first term number and the last term number as usual.

To see the other terms which are hidden from view, press the right arrow key to scroll through the answer. Each term of this new sequence represents a partial sum. The first term is the first partial sum, the second term is the second partial sum and so on. For this example the sequence of partial sums diverges.
