SEQUENCES Graphing A Sequence (Page 4 of 9)

From these results we can see that the terms alternate in sign, and that all the terms are between 1 and -1. To establish a good viewing window, set Xmin and Xmax based on the value of n, and Ymin and Ymax based on the values of the terms themselves. Since we want to graph the first ten terms, n will vary from 1 to 10, so set Xmin=0 and Xmax=11. For the y-axis set Ymin=-1.2 and Ymax=1.2.

In the WINDOW screen we must also specify nMin and nMax, the first and last term numbers (values of n) to be defined. Set nMin=1 and nMax=10 for the first ten terms. PlotStart will be the n-value (term number) of the first term graphed, so set PlotStart=1. Finally, make sure PlotStep is set to 1.
