Press Y= key. to access the sequence editor. Make sure nMin is set to 1 (the default value), then enter the rule for the sequence on the next line. The TI-83/84 name of our sequence will be u. Notice that in this mode the X,T,theta,n key. key will type an n instead of the usual x. For a non-recursive sequence (each term depends on n only) you can ignore the u(nMin) setting.

 Y= key. (Clear any previous functions)

 Left parenthesis key. Negation key. 1 Right parenthesis key. Caret key. X,T,theta,n key. Multiply key. 2 X,T,theta,n key. Divide key. Left parenthesis key.
 X,T,theta,n key. x-squared key. Plus key. 1 Right parenthesis key.
