Before you begin to explore any of the available topics, it is necessary that you are familiar
with several important screens which control how your TI-83 or TI-84 will function, display information,
and present results. This tutorial assumes that your calculator is following certain standard
settings, called defaults. Defaults are the factory settings your calculator comes shipped with.
In order for your calculator to behave as the tutorial expects, and for your screen images to
match those shown in the lessons, your TI-83/TI-84 MUST be set to the factory defaults. Every time you
use this tutorial you should check to make sure that your calculator is operating under the
default settings. There are two ways to do this. Please read the following information VERY
CAREFULLY before trying it on your calculator.
