FUNCTIONS Inverse Functions (Page 6 of 9)

If two functions f and g are inverses, then f(g(x)) = x and g(f(x)) = x. We can test this numerically by evaluating both composition functions for several values of x.

For example, let's test the functions f(x) = x^3-12x^2+48x-62 and g(x) = cuberoot(x-2)+4. First enter the functions as Y1 and Y2.

 Y= key. (Clear any previous functions)

 62 ENTER key.
