To identify the solution set to the inequality, we must consider when the function changes sign. A rational function may change sign at a zero OR at a vertical asymptote. This function has a vertical asymptote at x = -1.

We now interpret the inequality (x+6)/(x+1)-2 >= 0 in terms of the function that is graphed. The solution set will be all values of x for which the function Y1 has nonnegative y-values. Let's use TRACE to identify where these values of x are.
