FUNCTIONS Function Composition (Page 1 of 4)

To evaluate a composition of two functions, first enter each function in the function editor separately. Suppose the two functions are f(x) = 2x-3 and g(x) = sqrt(x-1). Enter f as Y1 and g as Y2.

Let's evaluate the composition function (f compose g)(x) = f(g(x)) for x = 5. We can do this on the home screen using nested notation with the Y1 and Y2 function symbols, which are located in the VARS Y-VARS submenu.
