CONIC SECTIONS Graphing Hyperbolas (Page 3 of 3)

The hyperbola is the only conic section having asymptotes. Let's see how the asymptotes relate to the graph of the hyperbola. For this example, the equations of the asymptotes are y = 1+-(3/4)(x+5). We will enter these equations as functions Y3 and Y4. Then re-graph to view the graph along with its asymptotes.
