To find the argument, θ, of a complex number, we can use the angle command also found in the MATH CPX submenu. The result will be displayed in degrees or radians, depending on the current mode.

Let's continue by finding the argument for the complex number -1-sqrt(3)*i in decimal degrees. Make sure the calculator is set to Degree mode, then enter the command.

 2nd QUIT key. CLEAR key.

 MATH key. [CPX] 4: menu selection. Negation key. 1 Minus key. 2nd Square root key. 3 Right parenthesis key. 2nd i key.
