ARITHMETIC Scientific Notation (Page 1 of 2)

When entering numbers in scientific notation, the 2nd EE key. key is used. This is a second function located above the comma key. First enter the decimal part, then press 2nd EE, then enter the exponent.

Examples: Enter 4.2x10^12 and -3.75x10^(-5).

 CLEAR key.

 4.2 2nd EE key. 12 ENTER key.

 Negation key. 3.75 2nd EE key. Negation key. 5 ENTER key.

Notice that we do not need to enter the base of ten. It is assumed by the calculator when we press EE.
