Let's graph the absolute value function f(x) = abs(2x+7)-3. Enter this function as Y1, then try a standard window. The absolute value function is located in the MATH NUM submenu.

A comprehensive graph of an absolute value function should show all intercepts and the minimum or maximum point (the "point" of the "v"). For this function, the standard window provides a good viewing rectangle.
