The key sequences consist of graphics that are color coded according to their location or purpose.

VARS key. White keys represent the primary function of a key on the face of the TI-83 or TI-84.
2nd CALC key. A yellow key represents a function that is printed in yellow above a primary key (or blue for the TI-84), and must be accessed by pressing the 2nd key first.
ALPHA SOLVE key. A green key represents a function that is printed in green above a primary key, and must be accessed by pressing ALPHA first.
3 colon menu selection. A black key graphic, consisting of a numeral or a letter with a colon, represents a menu or submenu choice. Menu choices appear on the screen, and are not found on the face of the TI-83 or TI-84. When you see this icon, select the indicated choice by pressing the gray number key matching the number shown on the icon.
[OPS] Submenu options will be indicated by including text within brackets.
Func Other screen selections, such as Mode options and Table Setup options, and command names will be indicated using bold text.
